Dr. Michael Baur
Dr. Michael Baur became interested in optometry after he shadowed Dr. Kaplan in the summer of 2008. The following year, he received his undergraduate degree in Biology with a minor in biochemistry from Stonehill College in North Easton, MA. He then obtained his doctorate from the New England College of Optometry. Dr. Baur did his rotations at Tallman Eye Center, Dorchester House Health Center, Eye Care for Kids, and the VA of Worcester.
All of his studies and clinicals have had an emphasis on contact lenses, primary eye care, pediatric examinations, and ocular disease management. Upon graduation, Dr. Baur began his career with Lenscrafter’s, but once he heard that his former mentor was hiring, he quickly jumped at the chance to rejoin her team, thus coming full circle.
Dr. Baur is married and in his spare time enjoys an active lifestyle filled with running, swimming, playing basketball, etc. Once he is exhausted from all that activity, he sits back and enjoys watching movies/TV. He and his wife have two toddlers, a boy and a girl, who keep them pretty busy.
