Contact Lenses
Visibly Better Eye Care has the experience and technology to provide our patients with the most accurate contact lens fit possible. All of our Optometrists are highly skilled in the proper fitting of contact lenses.
We have a wide range of trial lens on site, which enables us to provide contacts lenses for our patients the same day, while their prescriptions are on order. This allows our patients to experience better vision right away, rather than having to wait until their prescriptions arrive. We carry a wide variety and styles of lenses including the following:
- Soft Disposables
- Tinted lenses
- Toric lenses (for astigmatism)
- Bifocals
- Monovision
- Rigid Gas Permeables
- Keratoconus fittings
- Corneal Transplant fittings
Insertion of soft contact lenses:
- Wash and rinse hands thoroughly and pat dry with a clean, lint-free towel.
- Remove your right lens from the container (foil pack or case); place the lens on the tip of your right index finger. (Use left index finger for left eye).
- Keep your head up and look straight ahead or in the mirror.
- Pull down your lower eyelid with your middle finger.
- Use the fingers of the other hand to lift the upper eyelid.
- Place the lens on the exposed lower white of your eye.
- Remove your index finger and release the lower lid.
- Look down. Close your eyes for a moment and allow the lens will center itself.
- Repeat steps 2-8 for insertion of left lens.
Removal of soft contact lenses:
- Wash and rinse hands thoroughly and pat dry with a clean, lint-free towel.
- Have the right side of your case open and nearby (unless your lenses are daily disposable)
- Look up and pull down lower eyelid with your middle finger.
- While looking up, place your finger on the lower edge of your lens and slide it down to the white part of your eye.
- Still looking up, gently squeeze the lens between your index finger and thumb, then carefully remove.
- Place lens in case (or throw away if daily disposable or if its time)
- Repeat step 2-7 for removal of left lens
